JEEVAN AASHRAY
"It is in the shelter of each other that the people live"
Our country is making great progress, yet there are people who have to spend nights on the footpath, families that don’t have a roof over their heads and children who have to sleep under the sky, with no sense of security. Living on the road makes them highly vulnerable to various diseases and prone to accidents. The Jeevan Aashray initiative by the Amulya Jeevan Foundation aims at helping people by giving them a place to call home, where they wouldn’t have to worry about the rain and storms, which protects them from the scorching heat of summer, and which gives their children a secure environment to grow.
Jeevan Aashray initiative by the Amulya Jeevan Foundation has been curated with the aim of providing well-equipped sanctuaries, with free rations and other basic amenities, to families from distressed and downtrodden communities. The idea behind it is to provide shelter by giving them home where they feel safe and where their children can grow in a secure surroundings. Occasionally, the team arranges special programs and events for the families and children, making sure their childhood is filled with love and happiness. Under this program, AJF supported Child Care Institutes, NGOs housing visually challenged, old age homes.
Initially, our team reached out to Sisu Sadan CCI, Cuttack, Jeevan Jyoti Ashram CCI, Sampat Rai Rotary Senior Citizens’ Home, Naraj (Cuttack), Settlement for Visually Challenged at Subhadrapur, Kajipatna, Mahanga and Kendupatna.

The Amulya Jeevan Foundation
It all began with Avinash Khemka, industrialist from Cuttack, reaching out to provide sustenance to the migrant labourers traveling along Odisha's highway during the 2020 lockdown. His inner compulsion and compassion grew in extent and intensity of support, as many around him were inspired to add momentum to the campaign. He decided to make this a continuing cause in his life and thus was born The Amulya Jeevan Foundation, a Charitable Trust
